Hey, everyone! Just wanted to give a big shoutout to the Korg iM1 synth, which I’ve been running in Loopy Pro. This synth sounds incredible, and I’m so pumped because it’s finally available as an AUv3 plugin! That means I can now use the synthesizers originally from Korg Gadget right here in Loopy Pro.
I’ve also been diving deep into frequencies lately—total math geek moment! I even had the calculator out, crunching numbers and exploring sound frequencies. Recently, I had an awesome experience with some friends, Larry and Arlene Green, who are muscle-testing experts. They run a kinesiology site and teach ‘Touch for Health’ techniques. They helped me experiment with muscle testing using sound frequencies, and I discovered my personal ideal frequency was 145.16 Hz. It was amazing to see which frequencies resonated best with my body!If I tune A to 435 Hz, that hits pretty close to my sweet spot frequency when I play a D note. And here’s where the Korg iM1 really stands out—it lets me tune down to two decimal points! I’ve rarely seen other synths (software ones, anyway) with this level of precision in tuning. And there’s more! Korg isn’t paying me for this—it’s just my genuine enthusiasm here. In the synth’s COMBI mode, I can tweak the MIDI settings so one channel is tuned -7 cents and the other +7 cents, giving me two slightly detuned sounds panned left and right. In Logic, I even took it further: I tuned one channel to 438.42 Hz and the other to 431.63 Hz, creating a 9.07 Hz binaural beat. That’s right in the alpha brainwave range—close to the Schumann resonance—perfect for those flow-state vibes!I’ve also been exploring other frequencies using octave resonance, creating a list that spans from alpha down through delta and even into the Epsilon range. It’s endless! You can apply these frequencies to effects or tempos—it’s all up to your creativity. This Korg iM1 synth has been my go-to, especially with its huge library of sounds. I grabbed both expansion packs, so now I have a massive collection of sounds to play with. So, that’s my shoutout to the Korg iM1 and my recent journey into frequency exploration. Stay tuned for more adventures in brainwave entrainment and tuning into the universe! Much love to everyone!—Jeff Yentzer, CreativeMusicGenius.com
